TIANKAI XIE
MANIFESTO
As an AI researcher and developer, I explore the philosophical boundary between human consciousness and artificial intelligence, seeking harmonious dialogue rather than replacement. My work emerges from the belief that technology’s highest purpose lies in its invisibility—AI that enhances rather than intrudes upon human experience.
I work at the intersection of epistemology and interface design, creating systems that understand not merely what we do, but the underlying intentionality that gives meaning to our actions. This involves building AI that operates at the level of understanding rather than pattern recognition.
My vision extends toward symbiotic human-AI relationships that transcend utilitarian paradigms, where AI serves as an extension of consciousness rather than an external tool. I am working toward technologies that make us more human by creating space for meaning-making and creative expression.
HOW I SEE THE WORLD
”Like a tiny drop of dew, or a bubble floating in a stream;
Like a flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
Or a flickering lamp, an illusion, a phantom, or a dream.
So is all conditioned existence to be seen.”
― The Buddha, The Diamond Sutra
